Coronavirus. How do apps work in different countries to detect if you are a carrier of the virus?

There are several applications that allow to decongest the emergency call system that each region of the world manages. Faced with this panorama of a pandemic, many are collapsed before the wave of constant calls.

Argentina: LINK WEB

In Argentina, the "Coronavirus Argentina" app was developed, the main objective is to allow self-evaluation of symptoms in case of suspected Covid-19 infection, as well as keeping the population informed about prevention measures. This App was developed by the Undersecretariat of Open Government and Digital Country in conjunction with the Ministry of Health of the Nation, the Coronavirus Unit of the Ministry of Science and Technology and members of civil society. In case of not having a mobile device, there is also a desktop version.

Perú: LINK WEB

The government launched a digital platform for people to view the results of the coronavirus test. The user has to provide their official identification numbers to access the information.

Colombia: LINK APP

The Executive has enabled a mobile application with information about the coronavirus. In addition to the tool, the Government launched a page where a self-diagnosis can be made to rule out symptoms and prevent care lines or hospitals from collapsing with people who do not really have Covid-19 symptoms.

Brasil: LINK APP

The Brazilian Ministry of Health developed an application with information about the coronavirus, which works as a kind of "virtual diagnosis" to detect potential symptoms of the disease. The application has been available on Android and iOS platforms since February 28, a few days after the first cases of the disease were confirmed in Brazil.

There is a tool developed by the Electronic Government Agency and Information and Communication Technologies that has basic information about the coronavirus, tips for prevention and care.

The Electronic Government Agency and the Information and Knowledge Society has made the Coronavirus UY application available to Uruguayans, which asks citizens for their contact details to make them available to health authorities.

Israel: LINK APP

It is a development of the startup Vocalis Health and has the support of the Ministry of Defense, hospitals and academic institutions in that country. In the framework of the study, voice recordings will be collected that will be analyzed through neural networks, to develop an algorithm with the aim of conducting medical evaluations and thus monitoring the symptoms and health status of people affected by the virus. Samples of these voices will be analyzed using an artificial intelligence-based algorithm to identify the unique vocal "footprint" of carriers and people who have coronaviruses, the Israeli government's Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Spain: LINK APP

The Community of Madrid has launched the Coronamadrid app that will allow people with Covid-19 symptoms to do a self-assessment using their mobile phone. Through it you can access questionnaires in which the possible symptoms of coronavirus are examined by those who fill them out, who will receive instructions and advice depending on their state of health. In addition, it allows users to geolocate, "provided they activate this functionality", which, according to the Community of Madrid, will serve to "better manage health resources to achieve a more agile and effective response in each particular case".

China:

The procedure of this app, as reported by the Chinese state news agency, Xinhua, is that users scan a QR code in popular Chinese applications such as WeChat, Alipay and QQ, and send their name, phone number and identification number issued by the government to request information on whether they have been in close contact with someone infected by the virus. The app tracks the user and sends an alert if they have been in close contact with someone infected.

South Korea: LINK APP

In South Korea, programmers designed applications such as “Corona 100m” or “Corona map”, services that allow, among other functions, to know how close users are to patients infected with this disease. Singapur The Singapore government has introduced TraceTogether, an application that aims to accurately track interactions made by a person with coronavirus. This app takes advantage of bluetooth to interconnect with other mobiles in a range of 2 meters away.
